Melissa Brown Carter is a partner and the Director of Finance and Administration for GrowthSquared. She is responsible for spearheading the overall growth and direction of the firm’s financial and marketing initiatives. Melissa’s primary responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm, leading the budgeting and planning process, and overseeing Web site design and content development. Prior to joining GrowthSquared , Melissa has served as Director of Administration and Operations Coordinator, developing campaign plans, budgets and forecasting, business and operational plans for labor unions, labor federations, private businesses, and leading law firms. At a previous employer, she played an instrumental role in acquiring a franchise license and was responsible for successfully increasing sales by more than 50 percent for the company. She possesses a strong background in accounting, payroll, operations management, marketing development and employee benefit programs.
In addition to her professional experience, Melissa is an active member of her community, volunteering regularly in local and national political campaigns and issue advocacy work. Melissa obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. She resides in Maryland with her family.
